Our Story
In the beginning, Facecheck was an idea pitched by Overwolf
to us, a core team made up of three friends that never played
League of Legends, but we did have backgrounds in tech, business, and gaming. It became clear that this can become something big, and we came together to build an app with a core principle to bring value to ourselves as gamers.

It started with two simple questions yet difficult to answer as new players to the game:
"Should I build magic resist or armor?"
"Should I build ability power or attack damage?

These questions were turned around into a problem we needed to solve that no other product in the market did at the time - show me what is the Damage Distribution of my team, and the enemy team so I can prepare accordingly.
Our Solution
And this was the start, with an in-game overlay that showed both teams with statistics and a damage distribution graph.
In the early days of Facecheck, we continued to work at our full-time jobs; however, we quickly saw the potential in what we were building due to fan feedback. Gamers loved Facecheck, and its retention was very high with its first release.

“The Ward” was the original name and logo but then we decided to switch it to “Facecheck”
